A quick look at any American city shows that society is far from perfect. Few things in life are right and this is very evident in the distribution of wealth, the job market and education. Overall, America is very reluctant to make drastic changes to solve the problems facing civilization as a whole. America is not living up to its full potential as a society, and something must be done to ensure that America remains in the position of the world's superpower. A college education should be a right for all people; therefore, tuition should be fully subsidized as long as students meet an established GPA requirement for the program in which they are enrolled and comply with a predetermined behavioral contract. The debt that comes with obtaining a college education often serves as a factor that prevents students from enrolling in college. The average college student's debt is too high for some income groups to consider college as a viable option. With community colleges charging tens of thousands of dollars to attend for a year, so-called "affordable colleges" are becoming less accessible for many people.
