Many people have written accounts of events that occurred in the past. They used as a source material the accounts circulating among us from early disciples and other eyewitnesses of what God has done in fulfillment of his promises. After carefully analyzing all these reports from the beginning, I have decided to write a thorough summary for you. The Da Vinci Code is not just a thriller written for entertainment; it is instead a sort of diary that recounts Dan Brown's spiritual journey and, as the plot of the book develops, casts considerable doubt on the veracity of Christianity. I chose this topic for personal reasons, mainly as an exploration of my faith and ideas about religion. I think one of the reasons the book has become controversial is that religion is a very difficult thing to discuss in quantitative terms. If you ask three people what it means to be a Christian, you will get three different answers. Some think that being baptized is enough. Others believe that we should accept the Bible as an immutable historical fact. Still others require the belief that all who do not accept Christ as their personal savior are condemned to hell. Faith is a continuum and each of us falls on that line where we can. By trying to rigidly classify celestial concepts like faith, we end up arguing about semantics to the point that we completely miss the fact that we are all trying to decipher the great mysteries of life." Dan Brown says in an interview: The secret I reveal [in the book book] is something that has been whispered about for centuries. My sincere hope is that The Da Vinci Code, in addition to entertaining people, serves as an open door for readers to begin their own explorations....the secret I reveal. in the book] is something that has been whispered for centuries….My sincere hope is that The Da Vinci Code, in addition to entertaining people, will serve as an open door for readers to begin their own explorations." Now I'm going to put the Old Testament to the test for see if it has credibility to be the reliable document it claims. "Religion, if it is worth believing, must be based on facts. Yes, there is room for faith, but if it is not faith in facts, faith is not only useless but destructive... The Bible cannot afford errors historians.
