The book The Art of Racing in the Rain, written by Garth Stein, changed my view of the humanities. This work documented the human experience in a light I would not have seen if I had only read the books I was assigned in class. The themes in this book and the way they were portrayed helped me learn the symbolism a little better and also understand my life more clearly.
