Taking Responsibility for the HolocaustHatred of Jews dates back hundreds of years. Jews were massacred there by the thousands during the 16th century and were seen as a general threat. So in Europe, especially in the central part, there has always been a sort of anti-Semitic vision. There was also great hatred towards Jews within the German Christian Church. The Christian church saw the Jews as the murderers of their savior and as such did not love any Jewish people. The hatred between the two religions contributed greatly to the hatred of Jews in general in Germany. The main blame for the Holocaust fell, of course, on Adolf Hitler and his generals, including Goring, Himmler and Heydrich. Hitler is said to have foreseen and planned the Final Solution from the time he came to power until his death in 1945. Hitler's fervent anti-Semitism played a major role in the persecution of the Jews during World War II. Jews were often mentioned in Hitler's autobiography "Mein Kampf" and Hitler had clearly expressed his hatred for them. References to the “dirty Jew” are peppered throughout the book. In one section, Hitler wrote of how the Jews planned to “contaminate” the blood of pure Germans: “The young Jew lies in wait for hours and hours… spying on the unsuspecting German girl whom he intends to seduce… He wants to defile the his blood." and remove it from the midst of his own people. The Jews are the white race and they want to lower their cultural level so that the Jews can dominate. "Hitler blamed the Jews for all the misfortunes that had befallen Germany when he came to power. He believed that the loss of the First World War (w...... middle of paper ...and as such had been caused by them. But they were not the only ones guilty. The deceit and complete inhumanity of the German people could rival the psychopathy of the German government of a Jew on your street, it was not acceptable. So from this, I can conclude, however the German government and leaders were mainly responsible for the Holocaust, the German people themselves played a huge role by helping them and turning a blind eye. As I said in the my introduction, the historical anti-Semitism of the world, and of Europe in particular, would have contributed to the Holocaust, but in reality it only added to the role of the German government, and would not have been a major party in the Holocaust itself.
