Topic > Reasons to Invest in Lionsgate - 794

I believe Lionsgate is a film studio set to grow significantly in the coming years and I would like to have a lot of money to invest. I found five great reasons why I want to invest in Lionsgate. The Hunger Game series: As you've probably already heard, read, and/or seen, there's a new blockbuster franchise on the way, and in the meantime it's already made $362 million in the last ten days. It's easily headed above $500 million and probably above $700 million, plus another nine-figure haul on DVD and Blu-ray, not to mention merchandise. The sequel, titled Catching Fire, is already scheduled for release in November 2013 and will probably build on the mega success of the first film. There's also talk of turning the third and final book in the series into not one but two films. Translation: Lionsgate has a hot property on their hands that has actually caught fire and will burn brightly for the next many years.2. Ender's Game Adaptations: Yet another franchise in the young adult fiction genre is gearing up to hit the big screen. And once again Lionsgate is at the helm. This, a science fiction tale of a future where children and young adults are trained by the military for an impending alien invasion, already has a huge fan base and will likely be another highly successful film franchise, at least as far as notes of the box office range of over $500 million, if not more. Like The Hunger Games, this series is aimed at both male and female audiences and attracts families and viewers of all ages. The Purchase of Summit Entertainment: Lionsgate purchased Summit Entertainment, meaning that Lionsgate now owns all of the properties owned by Summit. Such properties include The Twilight Saga and the Step Up To The Streets franchise. The first is, of course,... middle of paper... This year, Lionsgate will probably make more from that film than they made from all of last year's films combined. Think about it for a moment. So remember that this year will also release the last Twilight movie, as well as the next Step Up and The Expendables 2. Next year will bring another chapter of Hunger Games, the beginning of Ender's Game, Last Stand, The Tomb and the reboot of the popular film Bass. The low-budget cult horror franchise The Leprechaun. We can expect to see Lionsgate become one of the dominant studios over the next couple of years (they are already the most successful independent film and TV distribution company in the US) and will continue to expand and add new properties. to their stable of material, for ever-increasing profits. And that's why I want to invest in Lionsgate, especially while their stock is still just under $15 a share.
