Art Nouveau was a movement of the late 19th century and early 20th century, which inspired the use of geometric and organic shapes, ultimately making natural forms more angular. Art Deco was a material style movement of the 1920s, which was a blend of modernity and the classical past. Those were expressed through geometric shapes and streamlined shapes; it was a sophisticated kind of elegance. The Constructivism movement was an artistic and architectural movement oriented towards unity or social change as it developed after World War I. The style of the movement was abstract and accepted modernity, normally geometric, but it was preferred to be objective and not subjective in form. Artists like Wassily Kandinsky were abstract expressionists, embracing the expressionism movement, geared towards showing universal emotions and themes. They mixed the concepts of surrealism and abstract art to generate a style that suited post-war moods (anxiety, trauma). Bubbles used key elements of all these movements that pre-existed in his work, which defined his style.
