“Give me a bowl of special pasta. Where were you? I've been waiting for you for a long time. Hurry!" The man shouted at the waitress in the very crowded restaurant and didn't even spare her a glance. She didn't reply but went back to the kitchen. It was a case I witnessed in the restaurant near my house. Therefore, when I read the article "Can I Teach You Manners?" written by Christie Scotty, I can understand why Scotty feels a little angry when the way others treat her depends on her job. I agree with her somewhat , but I believe that not all people treat others this way. In the article, Christie Scotty believes that people treat others based on occupations "I realized a long time ago that my profession is a marker that people use to see how smart or talented I am,” she writes. To prove her point, Scotty tells us some examples of her situation. Being a journalist, readers treated her very cordially. However, when she left that job and started working as a waitress, many customers judged her as if she were a peon. You mention "Many of my clients didn't understand the difference between server and servant." Therefore, the author believes that people only behave courteously if money is involved or if their relationship is centered around "give me." Scotty makes some good points here. I too have seen some people behave very rudely. As a cashier at a nail salon for almost a year, I have encountered three types of rude customers. The first type of buyers are people who only care about their own benefits and never care about other people's thoughts. A woman came into my cosmetics store asking for something free because she had spent over three hundred dollars. But I explained that we were in wholesale and that all the prices here were already cheaper than in other stores. However, he still kept asking for some things for free. Seeing that I was busy with another customer, she replied, "You're so cheap." Then she left. Other types of customers are short-tempered people. For example, one time I answered the phone, a guy yelled at me without saying hello. “Where are my things? Why didn't you send it to me? I really need it for today” he questioned me with his “heavy” tongue. After asking him to patiently double check his order, he discovered that he had forgotten to order it.
