Diversity is a very important issue that needs to be understood in a company for many reasons. The reason is that there is a very strong demand for diverse people in the workplace and everyone must be given equal opportunities. Unfair treatment of any person is illegal. Another reason is that having a more diverse management panel in a company improves organizational effectiveness. There are many different ways one can discriminate against someone else. Age, gender, religion, race, sexual orientation and disability are all major diversity issues that emerge daily, especially in the workplace.
