Hideki Tojo was born in Tokyo on December 30, 1884. Tojo was the eldest son in his family. Tojo entered military school in 1899. He ended up being forced to follow in his father's footsteps. His father was a military man. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Sino-Japanese War and a major general in the Russo-Japanese War. Tojo and Katsuko Ito ended up getting married. Together they had seven children. He was born into a more respected family. Tojo's mother was the daughter of a Buddhist priest. He was Shinto and Buddhist. Shinto is a set of practices that establish a connection between present-day Japan and its ancient past. Buddhism is a religion that has a variety of traditions, beliefs based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha Gautama is known as the Buddha, which means "the awakened one". Tojo had an ideal based on Japanese militarism. Japanese militarism refers to the Empire of Japan. They thought they believed that militarism could dominate the political and social life of the nation and the people. They also believed that Japanese militarism consisted of the military's strength to be equal or one with the strength of a nation. He was a militarist his entire life. He experienced being a leader his whole life and was part of the fascist party. Japan participated in World War I from 1914 to 1918 in an alliance with the Entente powers. Japan played an important role in holding the South Pacific and Indian Ocean maritime areas against the German marines. Politically, Japan took the opportunity to expand into China and gain recognition as a great power after the war. The Japanese army conquered German possessions in the Pacific and East Asia. Foreign Minister Kato Takaaki and Prime Minister Okuma Shigenobu wanted... middle of paper... an atomic bomb that turned the country into a disaster. After Tojo's passing, Japan returned to a democratic state and abolished the secret police, women's participation in politics and the Basic Law of Education. Japan is now well again. Japan has 127,368,088 people. The unemployment rate is 4%. Japan has been through a lot throughout its history. Japan has succeeded and failed many times. Hideki Tojo was the prime minister of Japan during World War II. He was part of a party called the Fascist Party of Japan. Being the Prime Minister of Japan, Tojo was responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor. Although he was obviously an evil man, he cannot be compared to the kind of person like Hitler or Stalin. But we still have to recognize that this is really the kind of thing we all need to be able to recognize, because as they say "history repeats itself"".
