Top Ten Yankees Over the Years One of the most iconic names in baseball is the team name "New York Yankees", and along with it came some equally iconic players famous. The Yankees had so much talent in their stadium, names including Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra and Mickie Mantle, just to name a few. While there are several arguments about who the greatest players in the game are, there is no question who the top ten of New York's team are. Based on updated career statistics, these players have a talent span of ninety years. These players may not have the highest scores in all parts of the game, but they have all set certain records that have yet to be broken or held for longer than most students have been alive. While many questions in baseball can be debated and ended without result, the question of who is the greatest Yankee is simple. Babe Ruth is undeniably the greatest Yankee of all time. Beyond just being a great Yankee, Rader calls Ruth a “pivotal figure in establishing the greatest dynasty in baseball history, that of the New York Yankees.” Babe Ruth changed the game forever; his hitting ability inspired not only baseball players but also the nation. He is a phenomenal player but unfortunately once again there will always be the question of whether this is due to his talent after several years or whether his records should be more attributed to drugs.
