Psychologists are very important people; they help millions of people with the daily struggles and problems they face. Psychologists not only help people with problems they can't handle on their own, but they are also scientists who study the human mind and behaviors. Being a psychologist, there are many different careers to choose from within this profession (Explore Healthcare Careers). The first type of psychologists to choose from is a clinical psychologist. Clinical psychologists help people with counseling and psychotherapy. They work with people who have overall life issues, such as new adjustments in life. Clinical psychologists also help people suffering from emotional disorders or mental illnesses (Psyris). People with problems ranging from short-term personal issues to serious and chronic conditions are the people clinical psychologists help the most (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Another type of psychologist is a health psychologist. Health psychologists, along with clinical psychologists, determine the difference between medical disorders and psychological factors. They help their patients cope with surgery, adjust to medical problems they may face, and help treat people with medical problems related to psychological and emotional factors (Psiris). Health psychologists also help their patients who have suffered from substance abuse or teen pregnancy (Bureau of Labor Statistics). The next psychological career to choose from is that of a neuropsychologist. Neuropsychologists diagnose people who have mental and behavioral problems (Psyris). They work with patients who have suffered a brain injury and study the relationship between the brain and behavior (Bureau of Lab... middle of document... reau of Labor Statistics). Psychologists are very important people. There are many different types of psychologists who help people with certain problems that they cannot manage on their own. They help people in every aspect of life, from helping them with the daily struggles they face, to helping them overcome an overwhelming disaster they've experienced.
