Voting in AmericaIn every election votes are lost or miscounted due to voting errors, machine errors, voting machines that stop working, voting machines that calculate the wrong number for a specific candidate and poll workers lose the cartridges that tallied the numbers on the voting machines. We the people have the right to vote, but with today's voting system; America does not always get the position of effective victor due to flaws in the system. In our country, the United States of America, the people have the power to decide who will be elected to office. When making these decisions, people listen carefully to all the testimonies that runners have to offer. After making the final decision on who they will vote for, they wait for election day and choose the candidate who best represents what they believe. The Voting System In the United States we have a voting system that consists of a specific day of the year which is always the first Tuesday that occurs after the first Monday of November, between the second and eighth days. On this particular day (election day) there are specific places usually open to the public (schools, city hall, churches, fire stations and post offices) that hold specific times when voting is permitted. When voting they will use everything from electronic voting machines, to paper ballots, to optical scanning, to punched cards, to the mechanical lever and to the electronic direct recording device known as a DRE..
