Cryptography is the science of writing secret code and is an ancient art. Cryptography has a long and fascinating history. Its use has been traced back 4,000 years. Cryptography was used as a tool to protect national secrets and strategies. To understand the topic of cryptography, you need to explore its history as well. Cryptography exists in many different forms. There are many cryptographic algorithms. There are numerous quantities of different types of encryption. All of these different types of encryption have reasonable uses in the world. A key area where encryption is used is network security. HISTORY AND TYPES OF ENCRYPTION The history of cryptography is exceptional. Cryptography dates back to 1900 BC, when an Egyptian scribe used non-standard hieroglyphs in an inscription. Cryptography is the art of protecting information by transforming data into an unreadable format. This is known as ciphertext. Encrypted data can now only be decrypted or decrypted by those who possess the secret key. In summary, encryption allows information to be transformed in a way where access to it can be limited by choice. Cryptography exists in many deferential forms. There are several different types of cryptographic algorithms. There are several ways to classify cryptographic algorithms. SECRET KEY CRYPTOGRAPHY (SKC): Uses a single key for both encryption and decryption. Secret key encryption uses a single key for both encryption and decryption. The sender of the information uses the key to encrypt the plaintext and then sends the ciphertext to the recipient of the information. The recipient must also have the same key to be able to apply it to... half of the card... to ensure information security, but rather to a set of techniques. The various types and methods of cryptographic algorithms are endless. The use of encryption is widespread throughout our world and has been used for several years. The use of encryption will only expand as the use of technology and technological innovations increase. Works Cited "Cryptography".
