The Boy in the Striped PajamasBruno is a very interesting character for me. He loved exploring, having adventures and playing with his friends. He didn't always let his older sister tease him and bother him all the time. Bruno was just a normal nine-year-old. But Bruno didn't always go with the flow. As if he wasn't happy with his house in Berlin at first. “Bruno had a pain in his stomach and he felt something growing inside him, something that when it rose from deep inside him to the outside world made him scream and scream that it was all wrong and unfair and a big mistake…”. I felt he was also very adventurous and believed in what was right and didn't like what was wrong. After being told he wasn't allowed to explore, he decided to build a tire swing. He fell off the swing and Pavel cleaned him up. But when her mother came home she took credit for something she hadn't done. In conclusion I think that Bruno is mature for his age but doesn't understand everything he wants. Getel was very mean and mean towards her little brother. She always seemed to act like she was 20 and he was only 5, but Bruno wouldn't let that happen. An example from the novel is: “Stop it Kurt,” Gretel said, wiping her eyes. He doesn't understand that he's only nine years old." “Oh, shut up, please,” Bruno shouted. “You're only twelve anyway,” he added. “So stop pretending to be older than you are. She also liked to say little things that she knew would annoy him. Another example is, “He runs the country, you idiot,” Gretel said, showing off as sisters tend to do. But she acts like any other 12-year-old with a younger brother. He just loves to get on your nerves... middle of paper......6. “It reminds me of how grandma always had the right costume for me to wear. You were wearing the right outfit and you feel like the person you pretend to be.”: I chose this because it shows that when you change your look you can change your personality.7. “In his imagination he had thought that all the huts were full of happy families…”: I chose this one because reality hit him hard when he discovered that it was all a lie.8. “And then the room went dark and somehow, despite all the chaos that followed, Bruno discovered that he was still holding Shmuel's hand”: I know this because they both died holding hands.9. Those people……..well, they are not people at all Bruno.”: I chose this because you see that the soldiers did not believe that the Jews were human at all.10. “Sitting around miserable all day won't make you happier.”: I like this because it speaks for itself.
