Topic > food normally doesn't grow because of the new genes given to it. In the article written by Emily Anthes, she talks about how a company called AquaBounty wants to create genetically modified Atlantic salmon that can produce growth hormones during the cold months. Anthes says: “Normally, Atlantic salmon only produce growth hormone in the hot summer months, but these genetic adjustments allow the fish to churn it out year-round.” Allowing Atlantic salmon to produce growth hormone year-round means there will be more fish. Additionally, genetically modified fish will mature faster than regular salmon. Since the fish is... in the center of the card... people should open their eyes and try something out of the ordinary instead of sticking to one type of thing. To be honest, I have never heard of genetically modified foods causing any kind of health problems in people who consume genetically modified foods. What do you think? Do you consider genetically modified food a “frank food” that should not be created? Or do you think we as a people should try genetically modified food before judging it?
