Developing positive relationships with children and young people (CU1522) -8: Explain why positive relationships with children and young people are important and how are these built and maintained? Positive relationships with children and young people are important because children will feel comfortable with carers and will be able to separate more easily from their parents. If children feel safe and get used to their surroundings, they are more likely to participate in playtime and learning activities. Children will feel safe and comfortable, which will help them have fun in kindergarten. Children's language develops more quickly as children feel confident and comfortable. In relation to the positive relationship, staff having a positive and strong relationship with a child means that they will learn how to recognize the child's needs and how they are met. Staff will also be able to recognize your child's expressions and emotions and will be able to respond quickly and effectively. When children have strong relationships with staff, they are less likely to display unwanted behaviors as staff can recognize and meet children's needs. By knowing the child better and building a strong relationship with him/her, staff can more precisely plan the activities the child will enjoy and develop from because they understand the child's developmental needs and interests. There are many ways to express positive outcomes relationships with children and young people are built and maintained. These include; valuing each child as a unique child, communicating effectively, playing together, respecting and showing courtesy, knowing what the child's developmental needs and interests are, listening to children to see what they are doing... half of the paper... ...services so that their needs are met. In relation to the assessed needs of children and families, child welfare social workers assess, monitor and review plans in multi-agency meetings. They have the responsibility of helping children who have emotional difficulties, children who are seriously ill, managing foster care and adoption. Special Educational Needs Coordinator: Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) are professionals who coordinate additional support for children with special needs ahead of their learning and development. They work alongside parents, carers, child workers and other professionals who are involved with them. SENCO will assess the child's levels of needs and see what difficulties they have to know how to address the problem and see what support there is to help the child's development.
