Most children grow up watching Disney princess movies. Girls want to be extraordinary, beautiful and similar in behavior to the princesses seen in these films. These films teach them that to be happy you have to be fashionable, beautiful and be saved by a prince. However, these films have been shown to have a negative impact on the lives of these young girls, often resulting in low self-esteem, disobedience, excessive dependence and an unrealistic expectation of male partners. As a result, girls should not be encouraged to watch Disney princess movies because they idolize the characters, which are simply fictitious and meant only for entertainment, and these movies also cause disobedience, low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Disney princess movies show the image of sexy and stunning girls as princesses. They have long hair, narrow waists, perfect skin, beautiful clothes and beautiful voices (England, Descartes, Collier-Meek, 2). It's no surprise that girls want to have the qualities of these fictional characters. They define beauty as having a perfect body image, just like the Disney princess movies taught them. Additionally, the bad people or witches in these movies always look ugly, fat, or basically unattractive. This changes girls' view of society, leading them to develop low self-esteem if they do not meet princess standards (Dundes, 8). Since Disney presents the male character (the prince) to be romantically linked to the female character (the princess), girls who don't think they have the image of a princess will have the impression that they can't be loved by handsome men and rich (England, Descartes, Collier-Meek, 3). Furthermore, they will consider themselves a… center of the paper… society. This is a sign of addiction because he does everything that society wants him to do and does not consider what he wants. Disney shows that women can limit themselves to doing what men do, however it is wrong because everyone has to fight for themselves to survive. Disney princess movies are not suitable for young girls. People blame adult media for corrupting a child, but they fail to understand where it all began: Disney princess movies. Women should not see Disney princesses as their role models. They should accept themselves for who they are instead of comparing themselves to unrealistic Disney characters. If girls continue to emulate Disney characters, it could affect their future. It is best to stop them at an early age. Therefore, they should not be encouraged to watch Disney princess movies for the betterment of their future and society.
