The Eternal Sun of the Immaculate Mind The Eternal Sun of the Immaculate Mind, a film that confuses but entertains, with action, comedy and, above all, the value of 'Love. At times I was confused between what was happening in the film and what meaning it had. While it was fun trying to figure out why I needed to understand certain parts, it was also frustrating when I realized that what I thought was important was actually irrelevant. Comedy, another feature of this film, was used very lightly; I felt like it was simply there to entertain the boring parts and help clarify the confusing ones, instead it complicated things and still lacked relevance. If I had to use one word to describe the film overall it would be embarrassing, not only because it leaves you with so many questions but also because it refuses to provide an explanation for every scene. Love was one of the many reasons why I was entertained by the film. I felt that the devotion that was created between the two main characters was powerful, intense and fun. It was the fling between the couple that had me watching and wanting more. I feel like the couple was atypical and both had completely opposite personalities, it was interesting to see how they got along and it was surprising to see how quickly they fell in love. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was a very atypical pairing. deviant film, yet so much was missing. I have the feeling that he gave too much in some scenes and that those same characteristics were missing in others. While the adventures kept me interested, what I was supposed to do about the parts that didn't have action, I was left stumped. This movie was overall interesting, but still left me wanting more. More action, more answers and more reality. The film begins with Joel Barish (Jim Carrey), a man who seems lonely, lost and distant in life from the beginning. He boards a train and meets an outspoken, dysfunctional woman (Kate Winslet) who later introduces herself as Clementine Kruczynski, the two immediately strike up a conversation. This leaves viewers like me confused as to what exactly is going on and whether the conversation taking place between the two main characters is necessary. Yet what I understood was the connection they had with each other, it was as if they were made for each other despite their physical, mental and emotional differences..
