The relief phase is when a potential drug addict wants to escape loneliness, anger or boredom. The phase of increased use occurs when the addict takes larger quantities of the drug. the phase of concern is the constant interest in the drug and the constant availability of the drug. The addiction phase is synonymous with addiction. More drugs are sought without regard for negative physical symptoms. The withdrawal phase presents physical or psychological effects of not taking the drug. Withdrawal includes pain, chills, and/or depression resulting from not using the addictive drug.
