I lay on the hospital bed, unable to move my legs and with a throbbing pain in my head. Thoughts were constantly going in and out of my head and the room was spinning in circles for me. One thing troubled me and it was the question: will I be able to lead a normal life again?? According to the doctors I was in a wheelchair all my life, but I didn't believe it and was waiting for a miracle to happen... It was a humid day in Barcelona. I had just arrived at Barcelona International Airport and had been told by my father that his younger cousin Steven would be picking me up. He arrived within 2 minutes of my arrival and we left from the airport to his house. When we arrived at his luxurious house I told him that I had come to the city to look for a job because I didn't have one and that I didn't want to I had a really hard time finding a job because my qualifications weren't that good. I asked him to help me find one because he knew the city well and then he told me that he was a coach and could train me to become a Formula 1 driver and at that moment I remembered that my father had told me that one of his cousins he was a superior coach. Steven also told me that it was a 1 month training so he asked me to focus hard if I wanted to do it. There was no question that I didn't. Steven gave me a day of explanations on what F1 was, the key to winning and how he would train me. He told me that F1 is the highest class of single-seater open-wheel formula car racing. It is a global sport, featuring an annual World Drivers' Championship and World Manufacturers' Championship, and is the most expensive sport in the world and has also stated that the key to winning is good concentration, track awareness and hard work. Training began the next day. day; I was taken to a small running track where I would train for two months. The training was split into 2 sections, the first was working at high speed with some control, which I had to do for 2 weeks, which isn't difficult at all. The other half of the training was the 2 weeks of speed and control combined which is not complicated but not easy either especially for someone who hasn't been involved in this type of renowned sport.
