The pamphlet spoke out against the injustices that British rule had towards the colonists. He also influenced the colonists to gain their independence from Great Britain. His pamphlet sold 120,000 copies in the first three months of its release. Unlike many other political writers, he had a way of speaking for all the common people of America such as farmers, ignorant people, artisans, and laborers. Paine was full of energy and very talented when it came to being an impressive political writer. When America finally gained its independence, Paine returned to Europe to join the reforms. However, his outspokenness got him into trouble with European officials. This caused Paine to return to America to live in poverty for the rest of his life
