Topic > Should animals be used for research? - 742

There are different types of animals used for research, but which do not survive the test. Animals are similar to humans; they have hearts just like humans. Researchers have absolutely no sympathy for these animals, including ferocious ones. All animals need some kind of affection from humans, otherwise there is a high possibility that the animals will not survive. Personally, animal research should be banned, but in doing so researchers would have to find something or someone else to test the products on to make sure they are usable for humans. The reasons for animal research are understandable and could change a person's way of thinking. decide whether or not to ban animal testing. Scientific knowledge is needed to determine whether the product is a decent way to treat a disease. Different species are studied to show the similarities and differences in how the skin or animal reacts, although mostly simple animals are studied. The nervous or immune system, the most complex systems, is usually studied using the same functions used in all animals. Animals are also used as models to understand diseases. Many animals suffer from the same diseases and defects as humans such as cancer, emphysema and many others. The website states: “Recent advances in genetic technology have enabled the development of transgenic animals, which have new genes inserted into their DNA, allowing them to develop human diseases that do not affect them naturally.” This means that the researchers do not intend to harm the animals; they're just trying to figure out what's best for humans. Researchers do their best to develop potential forms of treatment. Many diagnostic tools have been tested on animals and would not be useful to... middle of paper... but if researchers didn't test animals, they would have to test humans. Overall, animals should be used for testing, but the researcher should be smart enough to use some kind of painkiller or anesthetic on them. .("Animal testing." ProCon.org. Np, 1 20 2014. Web.
