Directly related to positive health side effects, video games have a strong influence in developing an advanced mind that can process much more quickly than that of a non-gamer; However, that doesn't mean you should play an overabundance of games every chance you get. By focusing primarily on your education and focusing secondarily on video games, you are likely to achieve extremely high academic results. “It should be noted that time spent daily playing video games in school-aged children has been shown to be inversely related to academic performance, likely because time spent playing video games is time taken away from reading and curriculum-related academic study” (Bavelier ). Too much time spent playing video games will likely result in poor academic performance. Video games should be considered an extracurricular activity that can be used to further strengthen one's cognitive skills. If you waste too much time playing violent video games, it may develop a negative psychological impact on you
