Topic > My Attitude Toward Teaching Essay - 1707

My attitude to teaching is that it is my responsibility to ensure that my students are given every opportunity to learn the material. I will be teaching young children and that means they usually won't know what is in their best interest, in terms of education. They may choose to forgo homework in favor of a few hours outside the home or playing video games because there may be no presence on the importance of school work in their home. For this reason, I will give them every opportunity in as many ways as possible to learn the material while they are in my classroom. My teaching style is less hands-on and definitely a weakness at this point. I know I want to engage my students because learning is an active experience and I believe hands-on learning is beneficial for young minds. When it came to my learning as a student, I did my best when I could interact with my teachers and when I wrote and understood on my own rather than in a simple lecture style. Honestly, the more time I spend in class observing and listening to teachers, the more I will be able to enrich my knowledge.
