The Garos who mainly inhabit the three districts of the State, namely East Garo Hill, West Garo Hill and South Garo Hill, are essentially unreasonable, believe in spirits and have rich customary stories of myths and legends. For the Garo, everything that is motivating and non-natural must have a tradition of some kind. Tura Location: West Garo Hills District Tura the headquarters of West Garo Hills, which was also the headquarters of the Garo Hills collective before two other districts of East and East The South Garo hills, which are 323 km, were shaped. from Shillong via Guwahati named after the present goddess Durama-Imbama, this Tura town is located at the foothills of Tura and reach your peak. 5km high at 1400m, the peak offers a number of prime views of the hills against the backdrop of low plains and the sweeping curve of the Brahmaputra massif. Tura Peak Location: West Garo Hills district A splendid and extraordinary hill is located on the eastern slope of Tura at an altitude of 872 m above sea level, the town of Tura is not noticeable. Local myth has it that the peak provides sacred protection or residence to the 'Gods' and it is also claimed that Tura was normally known as Dura, but due to mispronunciation by the English they gave it the name Tura. The Tura assortment has been established as a forest reserve with an observatory, a Cinchona farm and a tourist bungalow positioned in its surroundings. A magnificent view of the lower Brahmaputra valley and the golden yellow plains of Bangladesh... center of the card... dodendrons. Pemayangtse Monastery (10 km), Ravangla (69 km) and Hilley are beautiful travel destinations nearby. The village is a perfect place for bird watching and nature lovers. Trekking and climbing are organized here. The accommodation is accessible in Pelling and Pemayangtse. Lachung The enchanting mountain village of Lachung, at a height of 8610 feet, clutched by the snow-capped mountain top, beautiful waterfalls, glittering stream and apple orchards is the right holiday destination. Lying diagonally on the bank of the Lachung Chu [river] that bisects the village, Lachung is known for its apples, peaches and apricots. In Lachung you can visit the Lachung Gompa, built around 1880, the monastery is located among the apple orchards across the river from the city center. Also go and look at the craft center that sells wicker rugs and blankets.
