Conceiving a baby can be easy for some couples and difficult for others. In fact, some couples can do it naturally while others may need professional help or even to the point that adoption is the only option available. When we are given the opportunity for professional help, we must look at the big picture and think about the moral, immoral and ethical part of this delicate topic. However, although it may be difficult for some couples to conceive a child, there are many methods that can work and that is when ART (assisted reproductive technology) becomes an important part. As for the moral and ethical part, some people would not agree with this new technology such as IVF (in vitro fertilization), surrogacy, egg transfer, intrauterine insemination, etc. Sarah and Jim, a beautiful married couple who are always happily ever after, are desperate to have a family and are pursuing their dream of becoming parents. The couple, however, cannot have children because Sarah is sterile. Given this situation, they considered the idea of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology). However, when it comes to making a decision; they both have different points of view and can't come up with a plan. Sarah's decision is based on Kantian theory. She believes that surrogacy will be the best option for her as it will never be possible to have a baby in her body. In fact, surrogacy is an agreement between the couple and a woman who is willing to carry and give birth to the child. The surrogacy will be carried out with Jim's sperm and Sarah's eggs. The sperm must meet the eggs and then must be implanted into the uterine wall of the surrogate mother. This process is usually performed by artificial insemination, which means that sexual intercourse is not necessary. However,… middle of the paper… it is useful to everyone involved because the child would get the opportunity he would otherwise have missed and the possibility of a better future; furthermore, the couple would receive the opportunity they have always wanted, that is, to become parents and raise a child together. In comparison, the surrogacy option does not bring many benefits to the couple. In addition to the fact that they will have a biologically own child, the benefits of adopting a child and changing their life outweigh any benefits of surrogacy. Furthermore, it is an advantage for the woman because her body will not have to undergo intense months of hormone therapy with the risk of unexpected side effects. In conclusion, super ovulation therapy is not one hundred percent guaranteed; however, the adoption is more likely to be successful and bring the most joy to all members involved.
