Topic > Student Attitudes and Tactics towards Saving

There are various ways students can save money. One of these ways is to use discipline that includes shifting your consumption towards lower cost or cheaper items. This is beneficial for those students who are tightening their budgets and aiming to achieve short-term goals. The researchers conducted the study in order to determine students' attitudes and tactics towards saving. Research shows that money behavior can be influenced by factors such as family lifestyle, education, age and gender. It also shows that parents influence their children's attitudes and behaviors especially in terms of money. Additionally, a small survey was conducted for 40 students to fully understand students' financial awareness, behavior, and socialization experiences. The survey results indicate that students have different spending behaviors and different money saving tactics. Students face difficult challenges when entering a university. Therefore, these students must learn to manage their money and have a simple life. They should know how to live within their limits and, if possible, try to avoid purchasing expensive gadgets and devices. Furthermore, students need to be wise in spending money in the sense that they try to spend it only on necessary and important things rather than unimportant ones. So it's better to make some sacrifices. Always remember to keep some savings because emergencies and needs are unexpected and can occur at any time. Savings play a very important role in the country's development, as they are the primary source of investments that can generate more production and employment (Colayco, 2005).
