ComparisonsAs stated previously, the Olympic Games have become a mega event in terms of size and complexity compared to what it was at its inception during the 1896 Athens Olympics, when only 241 amateur athletes competed in the mini sport. Therefore, the number of risks that can occur during the event has increased significantly, including aspects such as infrastructure, finance, operations, security and including natural risks and man-made hazards. The London 2012 Olympics (OSSSRA) considered several types of human-caused events. risk such attacks on crowded places, attacks on transportation system and other terrorist attacks that may occur during the event. As London has suffered several terrorist attacks in the past, such as the 7 July 2005 bombings in which terrorists targeted civilians; terrorists killed 52 people and left 700 others with various injuries during an attack on the public transport system (BBC News, 2006). Also trying to avoid another terrorist attack like the 1972 Munich massacre which occurred during the Summer Olympics of the same year. During this attack 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team were killed by terrorists demanding the release of 234 prisoners held in Israel, as well as two founders of the German fraction of the Read Army (Rosenberg, 2014). Another risk that mega events such as the Olympic Games can cope with is the risk of not being able to maintain financial controls, for example going beyond what has been agreed on the budget. For example, during the 1976 Montreal Olympics, organizers had to modify the velodrome because they discovered that the subsurface was weak and unstable; an aspect that was missed by the geological studies carried out at the beginning. Some aspects of the budget... middle of the paper... cost overruns for producing the Olympic Games have been more than 200% since 1976. British Politics and Policy Blog, pp.3-5.Lock, D., 2007 .
