Thelma Golden had an influence on an artist I wrote an article about his name was Jean Michel Basquiat and his art had a very real feeling to me and his art it was also about the expression of The black struggle, wealth versus poverty, as well as integration or segregation, really opened my eyes to these social issues. It's amazing to see what the artist sees when you look at his work. He was a great artist who was accomplished long before his time. I think artists can be a catalyst for change as it did me a lot of good to take art class this semester and pairing it with a diversity class really taught me to see people in a different light and see what artists are all about doing their part and this can be a game-changing situation as the way people express themselves can have a great effect on our future by making us look at the situation from another perspective and see the struggles and triumphs that these artists portray. I think these works can force us to have open and honest communication about race and other social aspects
