Does the dog count for humans simply as man's best friend? Throughout history, dogs have been protectors, companions and pets. However, science says there is much more behind these creatures. “Dogs Read Human Expressions,” by The Huff Post, and “The Doctor's Dog Will See You Now,” by Melinda Beck explain the scientific connection between dogs and humans. Science shows that dog interaction with humans makes them more than just pets because dogs interact like human children and assist in various forms of human therapy. Dogs communicate with humans through facial expressions like human babies. A study published in the journal Current Biology showed that dogs have the same communication ability as a child between the ages of 6 months and 2 years when using interaction with our vocal communications. Researcher Jozsef Topal from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences tested this theory. The findings reveal that dogs are receptive to human communication in a way that was previously attributed only to human infants. The research detects when people follow a command and say it out loud; dogs understand as a human child would (Dogs read human utterance 1). When they make eye contact with the dog it is no different than looking into the eyes of a child when he shouts verbal instructions and recites the task that needs to be performed. In the article “Dogs are similar to young children, study shows” by Sarah Glynn, the author argues that “Dogs are so well adapted to living with humans that in many cases the owner replaces the dog as an animal , seeing the dog as a pet". of the same species and takes on the role of the dog's main social partner", say the experts. Dogs and children appear to participate in what is recognized as the "strong base effect". The... middle of paper... as different species. The care they share makes them consider them equal.
