The father of accounting, formerly known as Fra Luca Bartolomeo De Pacioli is very popular nowadays due to his work in the 1400s and early 1500s, the Italian Renaissance period. Born around 1445-1447 in his home in Sansepolcro, Italy, Pacioli had lived a very spontaneous life of constant travel. Pacioli did not live with his father Bartolomeo Pacioli, but with the Befolci family in his hometown. It is unclear why Pacioli did not live with his father, however, Pacioli found himself living life with ease. Pacioli had received an education at the Della Francesca Studio, located in Sansepolcro, where he studied mathematics. He eventually left Sansepolcro and ventured to Venice in 1464 where he had educated three sons of a successful merchant, Antonio Rompiasi. During the mentorship Pacioli had also developed knowledge in the business world.
