But what most people don't know is that it is a serious mental illness that every person is at risk of developing in their life. It is quite common among mental patients. Half of the people admitted to psychiatric hospitals are schizophrenic. This mental illness can cause many challenges in anyone's daily life. Many people don't understand what it means to have a mental illness. They don't understand the struggle that mental patients go through. There are many things that people with schizophrenia go through. To understand what schizophrenia is you must first know where it originates from. Kraepelin Emil (1856-1926) was a German psychiatrist who believed in the physical basis of mental disorders and expressed the need for a scientific, objective approach to understanding mental functioning. Krapelin was the first person to classify schizophrenia as a serious mental illness, but when he first classified it he called the illness dementia praecox. Kraepelin believed that these were distinct diseases with separate causes, courses, and outcomes. He died in Munich on 7 October 1926. The name dementia praecox was retained until Eugen Bleuler. Name changed to schizophrenia. Bleuler was a Swiss psychiatrist, best known for his extensive study of schizophrenia. He was born in Zurich on 30 April 1857 and received his medical degree from the University of Zurich. Bleuler came to believe that "praecox dementia", considered a single disease, was actually a group of psychiatric reactions. He invented the term "schizophrenia" as a new name for these reactions. This name comes from the Gr...... middle of paper ......n neglecting basic personal hygiene. This may make them appear lazy or reluctant to help themselves. But this is not the case, these are actually symptoms of schizophrenia. Cognitive symptoms are subtle. Cognitive symptoms often make it difficult to lead a normal life and earn a living. They can cause great emotional distress. Schizophrenia not only affects the person with the disorder, but it also affects the people around them. Patients with mental illnesses have many disadvantages and challenges that they face. There are many symptoms that come with it. There are also many beliefs about how this happens in people. But the most important thing is to find a better cure or drug to help people suffering from schizophrenia or any other mental illness. Knowing all this information can really help find a cure or scientists need to delve into something deeper.
