Hi, in this essay I will talk about my opinion on the film To Kill a Mockingbird. The purpose would be to express my opinion on this movie and let others know how good or bad the move was. In my opinion this film was beautiful for the story it contained and the message it conveyed. I will support my opinion by expressing my favorite bits of the story and scenes, some information I got online, some of my favorite quotes in the movie, and critics' opinions. Some of my favorite parts of the movie were the problems and the ending. The main message of the story was to not judge a person by their appearance or what society says about them, but rather by how kind and helpful their true self was. This message was conveyed in 2 different issues. One was that Tom Robinson, a black man, was accused of raping and beating Mayella Ewell, which he had not done, but was found guilty because of the lies of Mr. Ewell and his daughter Mayella. Another problem was that Arthur “Boo” Radley was not respected in the community because of the lies that were told about him. They said he was a monstrous being with no heart, only hatred but in reality he was a good man only socially distanced from his community. These grassroots issues were intended to demonstrate that all people, regardless of what society says or what they look like, should be treated equally with respect. This shows that this movie is all about equality and how everyone should be treated equally, especially people like Tom Robinson and Arthur Radley. This is proof of why I believe this movie is good. Some evidence I found online is that this movie was given a fairly good score of 8.7/10 and that the comments from others were all positive. For example, someone wrote "I would like... middle of paper... a good movie because it tells us a good story and shows us how people were treated back then because of their color or what." the company says of them, it was given an 8.7/10 online, it is full of suspense/mystery and humor, and many film critics such as Owen Gleiberman and Kenneth Turan appreciate this film for its story. I would recommend this film to friends because in my opinion the story is well written and well shot. The story had a true meaning that shows others to stop spreading rumors/gossip because it can ruin other people's lives like Arthur. The film also shows us how racist society was in the past. These are some qualities of a movie that make others want their friends to watch it. This is just a mere taste of why I would recommend it to my friends, but when the film has come to an end, this essay will also end.
