Topic > Film Analysis of the Training Day - 793

I chose the film entitled “King Kong”. It is based on the movie "Training Day" starring Denzel Washington. Training Day is a film that follows the daily mischief of a corrupt detective as he trains a rookie cop. Training Day describes the product of a meeting between screenwriter David Ayer, who grew up in South Central Los Angeles, and director Antoine Fuqua, who grew up on the rough side of Pittsburgh. Both Ayer and Fuqua are very familiar with the very intense relationship between police and criminals. From the moment you watch him you can be sure that Alonzo is a strong-willed individual who demands respect from everyone he meets. Denzel's performance is absolutely captivating. He does a great job portraying Alonzo's character. In every scene he is in he intrigues the audience with his dominant personality and arrogant attitude. Ethan Hawke (Jake Hoyt) provides excellent support. Jake on the other hand is a rookie narcotics cop reporting on his first day of training. He has no desire for the kind of day that awaits him and soon discovers that he may have put in a lot more than he expected. Director Antoine Fuqua's vision for this film was to bring that intense love-hate relationship to the big screen. and display it for the world to see. To ensure a convincing cinematic setting, Fuqua shot on location in some of Los Angeles' most hardcore neighborhoods. Fuqua also wanted to show the daily struggles of officers tasked with working in the roughest neighborhoods of cities and how easy it can be to get caught up in a street life filled with murderers and drug dealers. Overall the film showed the city of Los Angeles from a different perspective. One who… middle of paper… in this scene an enraged Alonzo yells at a group of locals in a neighborhood where he was once well respected and had power over everyone present. To his surprise, the crown of people betray him by refusing to obey his orders. Every element of the staging works in harmony and is meticulously placed. The dark lighting, Alonzo's frenetic movements, the fact that Alonzo was in the center of the crowd, and even the scene set in the middle of a well-worn project complex all play their roles in staging and presenting the vision of the director. Overall, the training day proved to be a powerful message and gave us a little glimpse of what is really happening in our society. The film shows the effects that drugs and violence are having in our cities. Training Days takes us into the world of crime where corruption occurs among our most trusted police officers.
