Throughout the history of humanity there are two main things that are guaranteed in life: taxes and death. According to researchers at Hebrews For Christians, 56,000,000 people die every year (Parson, 2014). Many of these people die at a very old age, while there are many young people who die a slow and tragic death. When death comes many people are not prepared and so many devastating things can result. People usually experience problems with their emotions, become stressed over a variety of situations, and many health problems will arise. Many people suffer from depression for long periods of time and give up on life. While there are people who take these experiences to heart, there are many ways a person can deal with these issues. Addressing these issues in a healthy way can lead to a very healthy healing process for all those affected. In this research paper I will discuss three main key points. The first key point I will talk about is the stages of death in the Kubler-Ross model. Secondly, I will discuss the psychological effect of how death can affect people in many different ways. Third and finally, I will show you many different ways a person can deal with pain. 1) The Stages of Death (Kubler - Ross Model) Although death is an important part of life, accepting it can be a difficult thing to do. Dr. Elizabeth Kubler - Ross, an American psychiatrist and psychologist, helps to discover the series of stages that people go through before reaching the point of death. This series of stages was known as the Kubler-Ross model. This model was formed by a study of many hospice patients, hospice workers, and families of hospice patients. These five stages include feeling Denial, Ange… middle of paper… cooking, or even doing extreme sports, can all be great solutions for someone who is dealing with the loss of a loved one. Doing all of these activities will not allow a person's brain to enter the gray area or think long and hard about the situations at hand. Also it is likely that a person will meet someone new who will not take the place of the dead person, but will return his or her happiness and joy. In conclusion we have seen how death can have a great effect on a person who is close to death and loves their family and friends. Death is an important part of the life we will all experience one day. While we cannot avoid death, there are ways we can deal with it in a healthy way. There is no time limit on how long it takes to heal from the mark left by death, but with the right attitude and appropriate measures, anyone can move forward in life.
