Mission StatementThe United States Navy was established as an organization that will train and activate naval combat-qualified personnel. The official mission statement taken from their website states: "The Navy's mission is to maintain, train, and equip combat-ready naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression, and maintaining freedom of the seas." (http://www.navy.com) The Navy also prides itself on the adventurous spirit needed to pursue a career in the Navy. The slogan used to recruit new recruits is "Speed up your life". These statements suggest that the Navy is not only clear in its purpose and design, but is also dedicated to its purpose. The clarity of its mission is seen in the extensive training recruits receive in boot camp and in the mental attention directed by their superiors to focus on the mission statement. In recruiting, the Navy looks for young men and women, often bogged down in school and jobs that seem boring and slow-paced to an 18- or 19-year-old. Work Environment The Navy workspace is most commonly at sea, on a ship, or in a submarine. Part of the Navy's mission is to maintain the freedom of the seas, so the sea is their place of work. The design of many of these ships does not allow for huge amounts of space or access to the outside world. A ship in the middle of the ocean limits a person's mobility. So the ideal is to function as a crew and work as a unit to achieve the goal. Confined spaces emphasize connection with your shipmates. Use of Slogans "Life, liberty, and pursuit of all who threaten it" is currently the slogan of the United States Navy. The slogan was intended to express the Navy's core mission of projecting power globally to protect and defend America. Furthermore, he has become a focus of purpose, pride and loyalty in defending his country and what it represents. Past slogans intended to capture the true meaning and spirit of the Navy were "Sailors have more fun", "Go Navy", "Fly Navy", "Join the Navy and see the world", "You and the Navy , full speed ahead" ”, “It's not just a job, it's an adventure!” and “Speed up your life.” (“Vita, Libertà”, 2004).
