Some of them may be intelligent and some may even be unintelligent. The fact of the matter is that universities need to try to work harder for student athletes. They need to try to make sure that every player has the opportunity to succeed academically and not just in the sport they are playing. Colleges need to make sure athletes have an education when they leave college, not just that they played a sport for school. A proper education is the key to a successful future, they must be aware that you may not be successful in the sport you are trying to compete in, so a college degree is a prerequisite for your future, to ensure you can support your family when your time ends among the professionals. It is well known that not all schools take advantage of players and many schools want the student athlete to succeed in life, but a great way to demonstrate this would be to ask the athlete to stay in school and become more educated.
