Paul Hindemith said, "People who make music together cannot be enemies, at least not as long as the music lasts." I've found this to be very accurate, whether it's differences between bandmates or personal conflicts. I've been playing bass for many different bands for about twenty years now. During this time, I had to deal with different types of musicians and situations that led to a love/hate relationship with my music. There are times when I feel like things would be so much better if I enjoyed music alone at home, but it's like a strong magnet that draws me back every time. It's very hard to explain, but I guess it's just part of who I am. One thing is true for me, whether my surroundings affect me in a positive or negative way, when the music starts, I feel like I'm drifting into a different world. While my eyes are open, I see nothing, I can only hear. Music played an important role in my family, especially thanks to my mother and father. As a child, watching them each act was very inspiring...
