The corruption of capitalism in the United States Americans often do not realize the corruption that surrounds them in their nation. Capitalism is an economic and political system in which the country's trade and industry are controlled by private, for-profit owners, rather than the state. Entrepreneurs, CEOs, corporations and large businesses have the propensity to take extreme advantage of the power brought by capitalism. For decades, companies and multinationals have taken inexplicable advantages from the power they have at their disposal. Capitalism in the United States leads to corruption. The meat packing industry in the United States is one of the major industries that sets an example in taking corruption to new levels. According to the article “Corrupt American Food Industry Is Too Powerful,” the meatpacking industry gains far more power than it should gain. The American people have the right to know what process the meat they are consuming goes through so that it can remain in their refrigerators. The American people should have the right to know what cruel hardships come into play when it comes to the meat industry. The largest meatpacking companies make money by slaughtering animals and harming living things behind closed doors. “Welcome to the land of the free, where we prioritize money over clean resources and human and animal well-being” (Ray1) is used to demonstrate how the meatpacking industry operates in the United States (1). The meat industry treats its workers the same way it treats animals. They treat these living beings as if they were useless. Slaughterhouses kill thousands of pigs a day and pack thousands of chickens tightly together like a prison cell. These years... middle of paper...hill meanwhile in Washington the debt is becoming an uncontrollable burden. America will descend into a period of no economic benefit and extreme political conflict, ruining even the slightest chance of economic growth (Greenwich1). Americans have come to the “resolution” to borrow money to repay the debt. This also comes into play because gas causes Americans to stop saving everything they have earned and to spend both what they receive and what they borrow. These “resolutions” have brought Americans to a final stage crisis. This then leads to the demands of corrupt capitalism (3). The United States has a corrupt system of money-hungry corporations that care little or nothing about the American people and what they provide to them. This capitalist society has led a nation to a period of great corruption. Corruption in places you would never think to look, but right before your eyes.
