There is always a reason why things are and a purpose for what they become in the world where interdependence is the way of life of all that exists. Man in his selfish nature is constantly moving towards a complete extraction of his self from the circle of correlation with other creatures to present himself as the highest being in nature, while forgetting the basis of who he truly is. Despite all the knowledge that human beings can accumulate, if they forget themselves, all this knowledge will be of no use. In order to live in all his power he must know himself; basically his nature and to know it he must go on a hike, get lost in nature and contemplate his life in correlation with the other being. In doing so he will understand his being not through what others have told him about himself or what he sees of others, but will see more deeply what the human being is. “Gnothi seauton” (Know thyself) said Socrates because there is only so much you can learn from people, instead by knowing yourself you begin to understand what surrounds you. The world we live in is strongly influenced by what some great leaders have established as the way of life or, let's say instead, human conventions are those that guide people during their journey in the natural world of which they are the product. Life itself is natural, so if it existed as a living creature there should be no code for a living creature; we say that the human being must follow so that he can be seen as a living being. What's the point of living if you don't know what living is? Thoreau must experience this himself so he can know who he truly is. For he said, “I went into the woods because I wished to live deliberately… middle of paper… it is in good health that makes a man live. One can be alive but does not live because he is the robot of society; because if society must orient all its actions on what is good or bad it must be clearly seen that one is a slave to society. In human nature there is a sensor for what is good or bad but sensitized by the theory of society; human beings are afraid of nature. Humans are afraid of the dark and afraid of quiet places. He feels alone even when there is no one he loves, but Thoreau says that he did not feel alone at all. Loneliness is just the way you look at things or what maybe called loneliness might have a different definition, because the stars no matter how close they seem to each other, they are very far from each other. Knowing yourself is what can help man to move forward and live with others.Works Citedthoreau walden
