This was not just a disruption of land ownership; it was a breakdown of every aspect of identity. This is due to the interconnected and complex nature of identity. It is impossible to attack a specific part of the identity without affecting all of it. However, through this disruption of identity, individuals and communities have responded and struggled to maintain a sense of identity.
