One habit I need to break is leaving the hanging lights in my dorm room on when I go to class and no one is in there. I like opening the door after a busy lesson and entering a cozy room lit by soft lights, but it is useless and a waste to leave these lights on all day. Also, I noticed that there are more processed food options in the cafe than freshly grown ones. One aspect I would like to improve is the amount of fresh produce I consume. As Aj also said, eating fresh produce will not only have positive effects on my mental and physical health, but also on the environment. For environmental sustainability, it is much better to grow and distribute fresh produce than energy-consuming processed foods. In fact, the day after visiting the Convivium, I went to the community garden on campus and picked cabbage, basil and cherry tomatoes. Then I went to my room and ate a salad that was essentially free. I would also like to continue visiting the garden, at least until it gets too cold outside, and keep in mind how the foods I buy in the store are produced or grown. Even though it may be more expensive, I would like to buy more fresh food when I go grocery shopping, so I can eat healthier, improve my mental and physical health, and reduce my ecological impact.
