Murder TrialThe topic of capital punishment has been a subject of debate for many years as it should be in the minds of society. A society that seeks to establish justice for victims who have lost their lives at the hands of another human being. Critics of capital punishment argue that the government has overstepped its authority and sought to judge in God's stead. However, supporters of capital punishment will argue that many nations, both modern and ancient, have used capital punishment as a method of justice . As with any process that cannot be reversed, a measured step is needed to ensure that justice is done justly. Therefore, it is reasonable for a society such as the United States to have a reliable recourse for determining the proper procedural process for a homicide investigation. It will be thrilling to see a criminal arrested, jailed and then brought to court in what seems like a matter of days on popular television shows. However, in the real world the process is not as smooth and rapid as one would observe on a normal television program. television. There are normally two trials for murder cases, one for conviction and the second for sentencing. In this article the author will illustrate the procedural process for the murder investigation and the main phases of the process. The uniqueness of homicide investigations compared to other jury trial crimes will also be examined. Finally, an explanation of why all capital murder cases are tried will be discussed.
