My first way would be to explain to them that Dan is an autistic student. Making them understand this particular thing would help them understand how much this affects when it comes to learning. Informing them of this condition will show them why things like instructions, directions, etc. should be emphasized numerous times to Dan because he can be distracted quickly. Another way I would communicate to a stranger to understand Dan is by informing them that he becomes motivated in learning when he is interested in the topic, resources, homework, etc. The article “Meeting the Needs of English Language Learners” states that people do not learn if they are confused or bored (Freeman, 2000). Students become more engaged in lessons when they are interested. Using the above example about my little teacher's excitement to use the Chromebook showed his level of motivation. Even during this lesson, they were very interested in watching the videos that their teacher allowed them to watch. During lessons, videos give students the feeling of watching TV and in most cases the videos provide great animated information on topics that resonate with students
