Alfred P Sloan was born May 23, 1875 in New Haven, CT. He died on February 17, 1966 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Alfred won numerous awards, the Hoover Medal and the Richard A. Cook Gold Medal Award. Alfred P. Sloan was a very recognized man. He was the CEO and president of General Motors. Alfred attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has a systematic understanding of the forces of nature and society. The Foundation provides broad education and research related to science, technology and economic performance, including to improve the American way of life. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation was founded in 1934 by Alfred P. Sloan Jr. Alfred P. Sloan Jr. was president and chief executive officer of General Motors. The foundation is very independent and actually has no real relationship with the General Motors Corporation. The Foundation is very different in the way it focuses on science, technology and economic institutions. They believe that people who work in these fields are the main drivers of the nation's Health and Prosperity Company and are scholars or professionals.
