Implementing a year-round school schedule will help bridge the gap between America and foreign countries and will benefit people because it increases the number of students a school can accommodate, makes it easier for families to take advantage of breaks, and could increase staying in class. students. According to the WCPSS, a school that operates year-round can accommodate 20-33% more students than a school that follows a regular schedule. The way a year-round school program works is that a grade level is divided into 4 groups. When one group is on break, the other three groups are at school. This rotates so that only 3 groups are in school at any given time. This means that more students can be accommodated and that schools can be more efficient. Opponents of year-round schooling might argue that it increases costs for states because of the added costs of air conditioning, heating, electricity and food caused by the new program. Air conditioning and heating costs increase if you attend school during the winter and summer, when traditional schools are on break. Electricity costs increase because of the money needed to run the school more frequently, and food costs increase because the school must prepare more food for more students.
