Research Paper: Mack TrucksThe trucking industry in the United States is a very thriving industry and has continued to grow since the early 1900s. The Motor Carrier Act of 1935 allowed for the establishment regulations for the growing trucking industry. These standards have made road transport safer for both the driver and others. As the mass production of products grew, transporting these goods was not efficient using trains or other types of shipping, so large trucks and trailers became the most popular shipping method. This created a huge market for truck manufacturers to provide trucks for the new form of freight transportation. Brothers Jack and Augustus Mack saw the perfect opportunity to use their mechanical skills. The two brothers Jack and Augustus purchased the company Jack worked for (Fallsen and Berry) and founded the Mack Company. Mack trucks began in the late 1800s producing farm equipment such as tractors and many other goods. They were famous for their tractor that ran on tracks and rarely stalled.
