Verbal abuse can lead to frequent mental breakdowns, meaning the victim will start doing unthinkable things, whether hurting others, themselves, or acting out anomalously. Mental breakdowns will then develop into suicidal thoughts. Even if the victim does not make a suicide attempt, it is still considered a psychological disorder. Panic disorder is another effect of verbal abuse, which causes frequent panic attacks in the victim.
