He told me that Takoma Park was a very quiet neighborhood and not many crimes occurred. He expressed his love for his colleagues and how they worked as a team to overcome many difficulties that may arise in the community. For example, during our patrol we received a call regarding a man who was very violent and was causing a lot of problems in his house. Already a few minutes after the call it was surprising that all the officers were present on site and trying to preserve the peace. Additionally, Officer Carl only operates within the jurisdictional boundaries he is sworn to serve and keep the peace. These areas include Langley Park, New Hampshire Ave, and other areas within the same boundaries. Officer Carl also explained the importance of community relations programs held in the community and the positive way they impact the community and themselves. He emphasized that the community relations programs were very effective and every police officer was happy to participate in them. Additionally, this program often comes in the form of meetings where community members and police gather, celebrate, and discuss how to make the community great. The aim of this program was for the police force to have a good and close relationship with the community
