I like to follow the rules and get things done in a timely manner, exactly as the teacher guides me, but there was one assignment that got out of hand. For Anatomy, my teacher assigned us sections of a sketchbook that were to be turned in in increments over the course of the year. During one particularly busy quarter, the assignment completely slipped my mind until the night before it was due. I didn't start my assignment until late at night and had very little sleep for school the next day. My notebook was sloppy and I definitely didn't get the grade I would have gotten if I had been more organized and taken my time. That assignment was a failure for me, but just as Kathryn Shulz discusses extensively in the book Being Wrong, “Through error, we can revise our understanding of ourselves and change our ideas about our world” (5). From this failure, I learned that to succeed in a more autonomous classroom environment, I needed to organize myself more, so I got a planner and learned to manage my time better. I also had to learn to be more realistic about the amount of time allotted
